NATIONAL PARENTING PUBLICATIONS AWARDS
OFFICIAL COMPETITION RULES
National Parenting Publications Awards, Dominion Parenting Media and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies (together, “The Company”), will conduct at least two product competitions each year as described in these rules, and by participating, each participant agrees as follows:
Participation. All entrants agree to participate in the competition of their own volition, and will follow the rules provided herein by said participation in the competition.
Publicity. Use of Personal Information. By participating, where allowed by law, all participants and winner(s) grant the Company exclusive permission to use their names, logos, photographs, products and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other competitions and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use.
Release. By participating in the Competition, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against the Company, its employees and agents, the Competition’s sponsors and their respective employees and agents, for any personal injury or loss, which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the Competition.
Rules. National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA), Parenthood and Dominion Enterprises reserve the right to analyze any of the entries or judging feedback before determining an official winner.
Entrants. Anyone may enter the National Parenting Publications Awards competition. NAPPA will accept any entry that falls into the designated categories. Entries will only be accepted during the deadlines given. Deadlines are subject to change and are often extended.
Judging. Products will be judged and evaluated by the following criteria (includes, but not limited to):
Children’s Products entries will be judged on:
• Physical quality and appearance
• Ease of assembly and instructions
• Level of entertainment and engagement
• Value for price
• Educational value
• Skill development
• Durability
• Ability to “grow” with child
• Age appropriateness
• Safety
• Social value (no violence or offensive language)
• Family entertainment value (where applicable)
Parenting Resources entries will be judged on:
• How useful, engaging or interesting the product is to the parenting audience
• Quality of information/content
• Safety
• Overall design
• Ease of use and overall convenience
• Construction of product (as applicable) and durability
• Longevity (how long can a family use the product)
The decisions of the National Parenting Publications Awards are final. No refunds will be given.
Winners. Winners will be notified via phone or email at least one month prior to print date, at which time winners may publicize their award. Gold, Silver, Honors and Rising Star winners will be posted to NappaAwards.com shortly before the NAPPA results are published.
Privacy. All information submitted through NAPPA is subject to our privacy policy.
Samples. Samples submitted to the competition become the property of NAPPA and are used for judging/testing purposes, charitable donations and promotional use. Images and descriptions of submitted products may be featured in print or online without notification. Products will not be returned unless arranged in advance.
Entry Process.
Entry forms are online and available at NAPPAAwards.com.
Entrants are to submit three (3) samples of each product entered.
All submissions must include, with samples, any batteries, light bulbs or other components needed to operate product. If omitted, product will not be evaluated and entry fee will not be refunded.
All submissions must be available for public purchase by the date indicated on the entry form.
Include a copy of the entry form with product samples and any marketing material you’d like the judges to see.
Submission must include full payment of entry (U.S. funds only). If paying by check, include payment with your samples. Please write the name of the product – as it appears on the entry form – on the check. Unidentified checks will not be returned.
Samples, check (if applicable), and a copy of entry must be received by date indicated on the application form and shipped to:
