National Parenting Publications Awards 2010

NAPPA Background

The National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) competition was created in 1990 by L.A. Parent magazine to review children’s media. It has since expanded into two competitions, covering a wider array of products:

Children’s Products – includes toys and games; music; software, video games and Web sites; books and magazines; DVDs; and audio books, storytelling CDs and spoken-word recordings.

Parenting Resources – includes maternity, childbirth, breastfeeding and baby gear; childproofing and safety products; books, CDs, DVDs and Web sites to increase parenting skills, promote family health and increase communication; and a wide range of innovative products that make parenting easier and more fun.

NAPPA is distinctly different from other awards programs. More than simply a “good-enough” seal of approval, NAPPA is a stringently judged competition in which only the very best products are selected to win the prestigious NAPPA honors.
