BOSTON, Nov. 22, 2010 – The National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA), now in its 20th year, has announced the winners of its 2010 Children’s Products Competition. Out of more than 200 entries, NAPPA’s expert judges and family testers selected 23 books and magazines to receive the esteemed NAPPA Gold Award and 24 books for NAPPA Honors.
“Reading comes in many formats these days,” says Rubin Pfeffer, who joined NAPPA as a book judge this year. “While much attention is given to digital publishing, the diversity in children's print products was clearly evidenced in this year’s NAPPA submissions. Our NAPPA-winning titles are as varied as their publishers’ and editors’ creative visions.”
Among the 2010 NAPPA Gold winners in the books category are:
Beautiful Oops!, by Barney Saltzberg; Workman Publishing, 2010; $11.95; www.workman.com; ages 3 to 103. This perfect gift book shows that there are life lessons in every “oops!” The book turns – through story and illustration – everyday spills, drips and rips into a beautiful and whimsical piece of art.
